Skinwalker Diploid
HYBRIDIZER: Roberts-N.
YEAR OF REGISTRATION: 1997
SCAPE HEIGHT: 32"
FLOWER SIZE: 8.5 inches
TIME OF BLOOM: Midseason
FOLIAGE HABIT: Dormant
COLOR: Lavender blend with a green throat.
FORM: Spider, ration 5.20:1
GARDEN NOTES: H. Skinwalker's many buds are widely-spaced on well-branched scapes. The huge throat is yellow to green and gradually blends with the lavender of the tepals. The petals and sepals curl and twist, and they sway in the breeze. This plant makes an impressive contrast with the lower-growing full-formed daylilies in the garden. The tetraploid conversion also is an impressive garden plant. Its appearance differs from the diploid's by having stouter scapes and thicker flower substance. Yet the scapes are still "airy" and the flowers dance in the wind.
