My search for
daylilies (cultivars of the genus Hemerocallis) that perform and open well, even
when our summer nights are cool, has been an ongoing project since 1994, when I first
joined the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS). You can see
descriptions and photos of my ever-expanding
list of the best of these daylilies by choosing a group link in the left frame.
Characteristics that are registered by the hybridizer with
the AHS are listed, and
I have also added my own comments and garden observations.
These daylilies would be expected
to behave similarly in other parts of the temperate Pacific
Northwest (Oregon, Washington and British Columbia), and in other parts of the
world with a similar climate.
