Athena's Owl

Hemerocallis 'Athena's Owl' (2012) Tetraploid. Peach cream with plum eye and edge above chartreuse throat. 39" scape, 5.5" flower, midseason, dormant (deciduous), 3 branches, 14 buds, (Rock Solid X Light of the World) Seedling #04-107.

'Athena's Owl' was named after a double-horned rock pinnacle that thrusts through the head of the Hoh Glacier on Mount Olympus. The dark plum eye and edge contrast with the off-white tepal color, just as dark rock contrasts with glacier ice. Blooms open easily, and are consistently well-formed. The plant makes an impressive clump in the garden. The photo below of the cluster of blooms was the result of several adjacent scapes "hugging" each other. Fertile both ways. ---$30.00.
