An established clump of H. 'Olympic Mystery' in bloom has a clean, crisp look. The clear cherry
eye and edge complement the creamy peach-pink base color of the petals and sepals, and is
faintly echoed along the veins, giving them a slight embossed look.
Flowers usually are wide open by 6 or 7 a.m.; the only exception has been for the first
blooms in the years (such as in 2004) when bloom season is unusually early. Sturdy scapes hold
the blooms clear of the foliage.
With a bloom season of a month or more, attractive foliage, and a pleasing plant
habit, 'Olympic Mystery' is
a valuable addition to the landscape as well as a focal point in its own right. The plant
is vigorous and a fast increaser.
